Question
Hello,
How can I free myself from very strong—too strong—family attachments?
They make it hard for me to live for myself, as if I had to give in order to truly exist.
For example, I am particularly afraid of my parents dying, and it keeps me from moving forward and achieving what I really want for myself in life.
I put certain other people's happiness before my own... but it is not healthy, because I neglect myself.
How can I change this and live my own adventure?
I wish you good health and happiness!

Answer from Master Kosen
Living for others is truly living your real life, and then suddenly, one fine day, you discover yourself as if you were one of those others. So why not love and take care of yourself as you would others? It is wonderful. By forgetting yourself, you feel wonderfully free.
