Are we really free?

Question

Hello Master. In your answer to "What is the soul?", you conclude: "...but actually, if I am telling you all this, it is because God has already invented the scenario, and the work has already been created by him and therefore already accomplished. All that remains is for us to experience it." Should I understand that whatever choices we make, we are only following our predestination? That free will, like everything else, is merely an illusion? Just thinking about it makes me boil with anger at being the puppet and, above all, the dupe in this gigantic farce I never wanted and do not find funny at all! My questions are: is that really how it is? Do we have any choice at all? And how can we escape this condition of being an enslaved puppet, with certainty and for good?

I would be grateful if you would kindly answer.

Master Kosen’s answer

There is no state called I am.

But neither is there a state called without identity.

All states are without a state.

There is no state called reality.

Nor one called nonreality.

There is no state of illusions; since there is no state of illusions,

there is no illusion.

If there is no state, neither is there a nonstate.

If there is no appearance, neither is there nonappearance.

I do not believe in the realm of dreams.
