Question

Hello, Master,
Sometimes when following the news I get angry, to the point of being unable to do zazen, hitting a wall, or swearing. Several months ago, to counter this, I meditated by forcing a visualization so I would not think; looking back, I feel that lacks honesty. Anger has loosened up my voice a little (I am rather reserved by nature). So I listen to roots music and observe where this sadness and anger are physically located (often in the chest), and relax those areas with each attack. I also sing (sorry, neighbors). Is patience the best solution when you cannot do zazen?

Answer from Master Kosen

My Chinese medicine master recommended sitting down and breathing calmly to completely calm anger, which is very harmful, particularly to the liver and gallbladder.
