Question
Master: I study Buddhism but do not practice it. My question is this: the suffering that Buddhism seeks to eradicate, and that is the starting point of Buddhist thought, is a product of culture (understood in psychological terms). That same culture, which denies us and punishes us for countless things, is also the scaffolding on which human beings develop as thinking and social beings. Otherwise we would be animals. Isn’t there a contradiction here?
