Can we practice zazen too often ? Would it not be escaping from reality ?

It is very difficult to say what is too much or not too much in matter of zazen. On the medical level, according to the chinese taoist masters, physiologically, three hours and a half a day are sufficient. But some zen Masters stay still today sitting during seven days in a row without moving or standing up. It all depends from your level and from the dimension of your practice ...
