This sutra is a universal invocation that wishes all sentient beings to awaken to the Way of Buddha.
The Fueko is recited during the short evening ceremony that closes the day.
Fueko
Negawaku wa kono kudoku wo motte,
amaneku issai ni oyoboshi,
warera to shujô to mina tomoni
butsudô wo jô zen koto wo.
Translation
May the merits of this recitation penetrate all beings in all places,
so that all of us, sentient beings, may realize together the way of Buddha.
