Introduction and daily practice at the Zen temple

Do you want to learn Zen meditation (zazen) or practice daily in an authentic Buddhist temple?

At the Yujo Nyusanji Zen temple, an experienced Zen monk or nun welcomes you to discover the ancient practice of zazen and accompanies you in the practice. You will receive the fundamental teachings of Zen Buddhism there, without dogma or proselytism.

Two sessions are offered every day, except Sunday (morning only) and Monday (weekly rest).

The introduction to Zen meditation (zazen) is open to everyone, whether you are a beginner or a practitioner of another path, every Saturday at 6 p.m., by appointment.

Practical aspects

A zafu (meditation cushion) can be lent to you. Come with loose and comfortable clothing, ideally dark in color.

If you stay for the night (see Staying on site), also bring a sleeping bag and warm clothes, even in summer. Remember that the temple is located at an altitude of 850 meters and that the temperature can be 5 to 8 degrees lower than that of the plain, winter and summer alike.
