The Genji Kōkyo zen dojo offers a space dedicated to the practice of zen meditation (zazen), giving everyone the opportunity to discover and practice, at their own pace, the zazen posture.
The person in charge of the dojo received ordination as a zen nun and practices the major sesshins within the Kosen Sangha. After co-leading the Paris zen dojo for seven years, she went on to create the Genji Kōkyo zen dojo in Nanterre.
Long-time practitioners, beginners, and the curious, the dojo is open to all.
On Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, practitioners gather in the tranquility of a simple and welcoming dojo to practice authentic zazen, following the tradition and spirit transmitted by Master Taisen Deshimaru.

Zen Buddhism is neither a theory, nor an idea, nor knowledge to be grasped by the brain. It is solely and simply the experience of the practice of Zazen. A seated and silent meditation posture, Zazen does not merely generate great energy, it is a posture of awakening. During its practice, one should not seek to attain anything. Without object, it is simply concentration on posture, breathing, and the attitude of the mind.
