Antony group

The Antony zazen group meets every week to practice authentic zazen following the tradition and spirit transmitted by Master Taisen Deshimaru, in a space set up as a dojo.

The leader has received zen nun ordination, and practices the major sesshins within the Kosen sangha.

Anyone wishing to discover and practice zazen is welcome.

Zazen session schedule

On the days and times listed below, the dojo is open for zazen practice. Zazen lasts approximately 1h30. Please arrive about ten minutes early to prepare. Beginners are advised to arrive about 20 minutes before the listed time wearing loose, dark-colored clothing and to bring your zafu.

Introduction to zazen

The introduction to zazen practice takes place every Wednesday at 7:20 p.m.

During the introductory class, the various meditative practices taught in a traditional and authentic zen dojo will be explained: zazen, kinhin, sampai, gassho. You will of course be helped to practice these exercises by an experienced practitioner. You will also be taught some basics about proper behavior in a dojo and during meditation.

The class lasts approximately 45 minutes. It is recommended to wear loose, dark-colored clothing.

The dojo is located in a spot sheltered from rain and wind but outdoors. On cool/cold evenings, make sure to dress warmly.
