Question

Dear Master Kosen,
I practiced for about two years in the Dojo in Brest. I am now studying in Paris
and unfortunately stopped practicing. I am now facing a dilemna : go on
with my studies and later on study buddhism or follow my father in is wood
company in Indonesia, the kind of company which is deforesting the virgin forest,
that is of so bad reputation. In my heart, I desapprove this, but is it a bad
thing in the absolute ? Will it divert me from the Way ? I tell myself
that practicing zazen would help me solve this dilemna, while staying in the
``without profit'' spirit. Could you help me choose a profession ?
Thanks a lot, Master Kosen.

Answer from Master Kosen

You are lovely and whatever you choose, everything will be allright, you will do
good whereever you are. Continue zazen from tome to time if your activities let
you a little freedom, and rely in your natural intuition. Don't think too much,
listen to your heart and to your body.
Kosen

Burned out

I started practicing Buddhism more than ten years ago, I did retreats, etc., but my life is just as miserable as before, or even more. I have lost my faith in chanting mantras or sitting because it had not made me any happier or wiser. I feel old and kind of burned out, I do not feel the slightest inspiration to sit zazen, chant mantras or ...
