I'm a beginner in meditation, and it's not so bad for the moment!
But some disciples talk about "total void". Instead, when I practice meditation, I'm rather totally aware, of thoughts that come and go, and to which I am not attached, which is not the same, I do not try to attain void voluntarily.
Besides, many people criticise the common belief that the goal of meditation is to empty one's head. Or maybe we don't agree about what "void" means.
Thus, zazen, total awareness, what is the difference?
