QUESTION (resumed) :
It's more important to help is one's family than help the strangers ?
QUESTION (original) :

live in, we have no moral alternative than to help those in need until we are
reduced almost to the same point of poverty that they live in. The opposing
argument states that to provide for one's family is a virtue, and that
the raising of one's own children in a generous, while not extravagant,
manner is a priority over the helping of the impoverished people not
near to us. I wonder how a modern Zen Master, such as yourself, would
resolve this dilemna. Thank you for your time and concern, I hold the
utmost respect.
Sincerely,
