QUESTION (resumed) :
Spiritual pride.
QUESTION (original) :
Our person in charge of the group is beginning to show the symptoms of an alarming disease, spiritual pride, and wants to educate with grind rules and conferences, while leaving us a little between a rock and a hard place (we are the two who have more experience than the rest of the group, therefore being able to see this kind of game, therefore inevitably we are a little awkward). I think that in the end, the only answer is to continue to practice zazen and deepen that, by hoping that this passes by, while remaining in contact with the group. But with a rather more radical attitude, we want also to be able to testify to what we think fair, out of this space, to avoid any conflict and to learn the lesson from what one sees to avoid talking cock leniently one day (knowing that there is no risk zero!!) What do you advise?
ANSWER :
There is an important percentage, and especially in Zen, of guys whose spiritual ideal is to become a small chief and to forget its mediocrity by educating the others.
I find your attitude very healthy in this respect. The sincere practitioner has immediately the reflex to be cautious and to wish with all his heart not to fall into this trap.
KOSEN!
