QUESTION (resumed) :

Tibetan master and zazen practice?

QUESTION (original) :

I have met buddhism when I was very young through tibetan and zen traditions. I could never tell these two traditions apart in my practice. So, I took refuge in a tibetan master ( I follow teachings of this traditions) but I also practice zazen. Recently, I have met Roland Yuno Rech who told me that if I want to make progress on the Way, I will have to choose one master and one of these two traditions only, and that I would not be able to make progress through the union of both. This has astonished me. What do you think about it?

ANSWER :

If Roland told you that, I will have to tell you the opposite. So, you will have to choose again between what he says and what I say. Personnaly, I think that we don’t choose to follow a certain Master or another one. If it is not obvious for our heart, why would we choose? And if it is obvious, there is no choice. You can completly follow a tibatan master and practice zazen, no tibetan master will blame you for it. On the contrary, they appreciate very much that their disciples practice the meditation correctly
