QUESTION (resumed) :
Zen and the problem of evil
QUESTION (original) :
Good day,
A question worries me from a long time, concerning the possibility of evil. How the zen gives an explanation of the existence of evil, not the fact to steel an apple but concerning really monstruous acts like the ones which the paedophiles commit against children, and which are profoundly traumatizing and destructive?
The answer of the free will or of the reincarnation does not seem to me able to justify such actions.
Another question: can zen help these children, or these children when they became adults, to remove the hate they have received?
Thanks in advances for your answer.
Franc.
ANSWER :
Evil is not so much far away from good. What separates these two ways is not a priori evident at the beginning. Then it is more and more difficult to change ones angle of attack. The way of good is the one that the Christ taught. He gave all indications in simple sentences such as love your neighbour as yourself, love each other, etc.
Love cures from evil.
