QUESTION (resumed) :

Enlightens me the psychoanalysis on what is zen ?

QUESTION (original) :

Good morning Master Kosen,
The psychoanalysis enlightens me on what is zen. Am I on the wrong track?
Eric

ANSWER :

The zen is the study of oneself by oneself, the relationship between objectivity and subjectivity, it is then quite logical that the psychoanalysis enlightens us on its subject.
But we should not make the mistake of falling in the dogmatism, whether it would be zen or psychoanalytical. The dogmatism would be to forget in this relationship a third indispensable person. It is represented by the therapist or by the zen master, who are however - regardless of their value - only a momentary crutch helping us to rediscover in our relationship to ourselves this trinity which makes the equilibrium of the human being developing itself.
The third element of this trinity, which I mentionned previously, please note it, is not the synthesis of the two others.
It is simply the love and the opening to universality.

KOSEN!
