QUESTION (resumed) :

Is it true that practicing the way is dangerous?

QUESTION (original) :

Hello Master Kosen,

I have read the book 'what is the enlightening?' from John White in whom 10 prominent figures speak (Sri Aurobindo, Krisnamurti, Ken Wilber etc) about their experiences, and they all seem to coincide in that 'The Way' of the practice of meditation is dangerous, even 'terrifying', that one can get lost in it, or bcecome a paranoic. is this true? Please do not answer me with one YES or NOT, explain it to me a bit. I've been practising Za Zen for a while now, I have met a Spanish Master Dokushô Villalba and you seem to have been surprised that he practises Zen. How is it possible? Is it that he is not a real master? I believe that yes, but you seem to know much more.

REGARDS AND THANKS

ANSWER :

The way of Zen is simple and it is not dangerous. One should not think of the illumination, the zazen illuminates life unconsciously. Without problems!

KOSEN!
