QUESTION (resumed) :

Is it wrong to follow my feelings without a terrible guilt ?

QUESTION (original) :

I am gay. Is it wrong to follow my feelings without a terrible guilt ?

ANSWER :

Whether you are gay or heterosexual, the profound problems are the same ... In zen buddhism, the question of the behaviour and of the morals is asked, but morals does not mean moralism. We should find in ourselves the true fundamental morals and be in tune with ourself, everyone has his own personnality and has got to accept himself and recognise himself the way he is without complacence nor shame. But the problem comes about in our relationship with the society in which we live and where the mimetism imposes rules which are not necessarily neither cosmic nor in agreement with our personnality. How to be, still staying what we are and accepting ourself, in harmony with the external influence and reality ? The question is there, and it is in this relationship that we do in general the mistakes and the excesses in one sense or an other, oppressing guilt or damaging depravation ... Find the equilibrium of his own life and hapiness is not easy for anyone.
