Daii Doshin

The forty-seventh patriarch was Zen Master Wu-k'ung. He studied with Tan-hsia. Tan-hsia asked him, "What is the Self prior to the empty eon?" The master started to speak and Tan-hsia said, "You're noisy; go away for awhile." One day, [Ch'ing-liao] climbed Po-yü Peak and was suddenly awakened.
